Learning and teaching are two of my passions.  I have been a student of the forged blade for over 15 years now.  It has been a true privilege to learn from some of the best master blade smiths in the world.  Many of my years in Nicaragua were spent teaching blacksmithing and bladesmithing because I feel it is my duty to carry on the craft and pass it on to others who are willing to learn.  I want to continue to offer this experience and these skills to others.  For this reason I am starting to give blacksmithing and bladesmithing classes in my shop here in Trussville, Alabama.

Intro to Bladesmithing:

I will be offering a 2-day course in Bladesmithing, where students will be forging their very own hunting knife.  Students will learn to forge, heat-treat and finish a quality blade that will last a lifetime. Along the way they will learn the ins and outs of coal and propane forges,  proper hammer technique, blade geometry, blade finishing, metallurgy, style variation in knives, handle construction and final sharpening. Students will have access to a well equipped shop and a teacher who loves to create and instruct. All anyone will have to bring with them is a desire to learn.
